February 5, Year 2 | Frankly I am unsure how to even describe the Sableye I hatched a few days ago. I had already been warned that this species could be trouble, but Polymethyl Methacrylate (Polly for short) has exceeded expectations. She is bursting with energy, only listens to me sparingly, and most alarming of all she has an appetite strictly for plastic. Other Sableye eat metals and gemstones but Polly is stubbornly interested only in fake jewelry and my dice sets. It doesn't seem to be impacting her health in any way, though it impacted my wallet when she ate several sets at a game shop in Lavender before I could corral her. Luckily I was able to stop into a craft store and buy her a few bulk bags of plastic gems, which may be something I order regularly now if that really is her preferred diet. At least it will be interesting to see what this does long-term for her biology.
