February 7, Year 2 | My first impressions of Gaia boil down to her name being incredibly apt. She is majestic and imperious much as a goddess would be, and incredibly aloof. Much like Leviathan I believe she will need to be won over before she trusts me.

September 18, Year 1 | I finally have an egg of my own to observe! It is of particular interest in that it will hatch into a Meowth, which is decidedly mammalian in appearance. While I have seen this phenomena before via the communicator, I admit the novelty of it has not yet worn off. September 26, Year 1 | My egg has hatched, and what has emerged is more of a surprise than I bargained for. This Meowth has extra digits on both its front and back paws. There really is only one option when it comes to names. I'm not sure if there is a Hemingway in this world and so he may not appreciate the namesake, but I can think of nothing more appropriate. Stanford Junior is out of the question. November 28, Year 1 | Today, after several months of hard work and having learned no moves whatsoever (presumably because of coverage by egg moves already known), Hemingway has evolved! Persian is larger, sleeker, and more reminiscent of a big cat from my own native dimension. He has remained a polydactyl, which implies that while Pokemon all evolve into a set form, individual traits do carry over. That is, a change to the 'Meowth' template implies a change to the 'Persian' template, rather than evolution being a clean slate. This has interesting implications for the nitty-gritty mechanics.
