June 15, Year 1 | For the past several weeks I have been borrowing Bertolt's Lampent to speed up the hatching process for this egg, and today it finally hatched. Out came the most charmingly bizarre mouth on legs, which proceeded to grab my pen and bite it in half (since arriving here I have gone through so, so many pens). It has been a very long time since someone gave me a gift for my birthday, and now twice in one year, and so thoughtful? I hardly know how to react. November 11, Year 2 | Today I beat Lt. Surge's gym and won the Thunder Badge using only Smash Mouth. His immunity to Electric moves was instrumental, as was his truly monstrous list of available moves, but it still amazes me that we pulled it off. This almost makes up for his habit of eating my pens. Almost.
