June 6, Year 1 | Finally, after weeks of waiting, my patience has paid off. I spent an extended time in Blackthorn partially in order to train up my many low-level Pokemon and take time to challenge Clair, but my true goal was to sight one of the elusive Drampa that sometimes venture down from the surrounding mountains. Today I saw one in the local park allowing children to ride upon its back and got several detailed sketches before it left to journey home again. I will spend the time I am not at the Pokemon center staking out this park in hopes of more sightings. Perhaps I can even make contact with one! June 10, Year 1 | Today the Drampa returned and I was able to get much closer than I did last time. It seems to sense that I, too, find the small children endearing perhaps because of how much I miss my dear niece and nephew and so does not consider me a threat. I allowed the children to see my sketches and they were most impressed, as they very well should be. We spent the afternoon drawing Pokemon. I believe I have made a breakthrough in earning the trust of this Drampa and, thanks to the generosity of the local children, obtained quite a few extra sketches. June 16, Year 1 | Once again in my life I find myself to be the beneficiary of marvelous chance, or perhaps simply another anomaly. While at the park today as has now become my habit, the children were approached by a group of much larger boys. I was reminded very strongly of Crampelter and his goons. Perhaps that is why I stepped in to put a stop to the bullying, and found myself fighting alongside the Drampa I have been observing all this time. Between the two of us we were more than intimidating enough to scare off those hoodlums, and I believe such a clear demonstration of what a good team we make was enough to convince the Drampa (who I have since named Falkor, after a character in one of Mabel's favorite movies) to travel with me long-term. While I don't have room for him at this exact moment, he will be the first on my team the next time I change things around. July 17, Year 1 | Nearly a month later it is time for Falkor to shine. I believe he will make an excellent mentor to Smash Mouth -- the Smrgol to his Gorbash, as it were.
