May 14, Year 2 | I admit that Treecko is not the kind of Pokémon I usually seek out. However, it is billed as a good 'starter' Pokémon in the far-off Hoenn region and I thought it might behoove me to see what the fuss is about. Thus-far Taxus has made a good first impression: he is attentive and energetic and already seems enthused about the idea of training. I intend to start working with him ASAP.
June 18, Year 2 | Taxus evolved today. He exchanged the roundness of his initial form for a much sleeker look as a Grovyle, and if anything is even more intent on battling. I've discovered that he has a habit of getting into fights with opponents that may be above his weight class. To his credit he approaches these bouts with an admirable tenacity and accepts defeat graciously. I see why the Treecko line is recommended for beginning trainers if they as a species tend toward such even temperament.
