August 29, Year 1 | While foraging for berries to feed Eleanor, I chose to climb the wrong tree and disturbed this creature's hiding spot. It fell from the tree and promptly exploded, nearly catching my pack on fire! Needless to say I caught it in short order. According to the Pokédex it is a creature that disguises itself as part of a tree in order to remain unmolested while it waits for prey, even going so far as to stick piece of tree bark to its body. I wonder how living and traveling with a human will impact its natural instincts? August 31, Year 1 | I finally have a name for her! Mabel chose to name the Pineco I caught for her after a queen (or several), which gave me the inspiration that I needed. I have decided on Titania, queen of the fair folk and thus an appropriate name for a Bug-type. October 17, Year 1 | Today I experienced my very first Pokémon evolution up close and personal! It was perhaps flashier than I expected, but no less impressive. I didn't realize that such a radical physical change could take place so quickly, but apparently this is normal for these creatures. Such a huge expenditure of energy may explain the need for so much time and effort to prompt evolution in the first place. I ought to look into this more closely at a later date. October 31, Year 1 | Today we had a very interesting battle with a trainer calling herself Plumeria, a member of an organization known as Team Skull. Titania more than performed; just as I suspected, the addition of a Forretress to my team was an excellent choice. I admit I was originally somewhat contemptuous of the people who cited Pokémon as their friends, but I have grown very fond of her. I think it would behoove us to attempt a gym challenge sometime soon. She is a natural battler and it would do her good to see more action! September 29, Year 2 | After serving so long as a faithful friend and fighter, Titania was able to take down an entire Pokémon Gym today completely by herself. Sabrina didn't know what hit her! Of course Titania was just as proud of herself as could be, and for good reasons. I'm proud of her as well.
