Pokémon maturity works very differently from animals you may be familiar with. And frankly I'm still not sure the creation of eggs involves anything one might consider 'inappropriate' in the first place considering that after thousands and thousands of years it is still a mystery as to where they come from. If eggs were made the old fashioned way, not to put too fine a point on it, surely there would be conclusive observational evidence by this point.

Well I can't be sure but I also don't think it's entirely my business to ask, nor do I assume I would get a straight answer.

But even if 'this or that' were going on I would hardly consider it cause for alarm. They are both fully-evolved Pokémon capable of making their own decisions.

And that Mr. Fox would treat her how she deserves to be treated, that's also important.

Mr. Fox can be a handful sometimes but I would like to think I've raised him with some sense of responsibility and respect.

Dr. Ford, you should know by now I wouldn't imply anything negative about you or Mr. Fox. Skadi is just really important to me, so I have to make sure she's protected.

But not in the bad way like I was protected. I have to do it the right way, which is why this is hard for me.

I mean, don't get me wrong. I don't regret evolving her in the least! But I guess it feels like she grew up so fast. One second she was small and needed me. Now she's fully independent in the blink of an eye.

Adapting to that isn't as easy as I thought it would be.

I felt much the same way about Mirkwood. He spent far longer as a Dartrix (and as a whiny teenager) than he technically was supposed to, and it wasn't until he gained some level of emotional maturity that he finally became a Decidueye.

I think being ready to evolve for some Pokémon has less to do with strict level count and more to do with personality. For those like Skadi that have to make a conscious choice I think that especially holds true.
