I don't know if anyone told you, but I disappeared for awhile, but I'm back now.

Good. I checked your gear number every few days to make sure it was still active but that isn't always a solid indicator.

[Who knows how the whole process works. That's one of his areas of study and he still hasn't really got a hold of how it happens here.]

Where exactly did you go?

From the sounds of it I completely disappeared. I even woke up somewhere else, but Jean picked me up.

And how long did you spend there.

[Ah. Ford's never been good at vague implications. He knows that whatever Bert is trying to tell him he doesn't want to say it plainly. It's probably something difficult, something it hurts him to have to think about in the way stating it plainly would require. It's just that whenever anyone tries to be subtle at him it flies right over his head. He needs things stated plain because when he does try to work off of implications he always guesses wrong.

But he's not going to force Bert to tell him. That's not the important part. He's finally good enough at this to know that.]

What can I do to help?
