May 1, Year 1 | Along with the Spritzee egg I also opted to take a Vulpix egg on the theory that more Pokemon of the Field egg group is something I need just as much as multiple Fairy types. As a breeder I ought to have Pokemon that are actually capable of breeding with each other, something I have neglected to keep in mind in the past. Much like the Spritzee I will wait to hatch this egg until my trip to Blackthorn is over and I can devote proper attention to the Vulpix within. September 25, Year 2 | After months of training, finally Fantastic Mr. Fox is ready to evolve, and while here in Celadon City I have taken the liberty of purchasing a Fire Stone for just this purpose. Ninetails is just as impressive up close as I was led to believe. When I first took up the task of training him I wasn't certain I would enjoy it quite as much as I enjoyed working with the stranger Pokemon I have had the pleasure of raising, but Mr. Fox has been a joy to work with since he hatched. While so many other trainers swear by their Arcanine, I believe I have found my own preferred canine companion in Ninetails. October 1, Year 2 | Mr. Fox has produced a batch of five eggs with Fay! After my successful attempt with Claudia and Mirkwood I am more than excited to see what this group of eggs may have in store. They are all spoken for as I write this, and going to good homes. October 3, Year 2 | Today Fantastic Mr. Fox and I challenged Misty for the Cascade Badge in Cerulean City. It was a gamble taking a Fire type Pokémon to a Water-centric gym, and unfortunately that gamble did not pay off. However, Misty commended us on beating both her Golduck and her Lapras before finally being bested by her Starmie. Apparently she found it impressive that I made it that far, which was bolstering. Mr. Fox did not take it so well. He's been sulking since we left the gym and nothing I said could console him. I hope this mood doesn't last long. January 10, Year 2 | Today I have discovered that Mr. Fox is something of a running joke on the internet. That is, my use of him in Misty's gym was broadcast (as gym battles often are) and has become memetic. There are images of my face with phrases such as 'GOING TO A WATER GYM? BETTER BRING MY NINETALES' plastered over them. Mr. Fox is aware of this... and he loves it. It has boosted his confidence to a truly ridiculous degree. I believe he parses these jokes as praise instead, that he believes they are saying he can overcome things a regular Ninetales could not. I don't have the heart to try and explain to him the true nature of his celebrity.
